Re-Wilding the Treneere Roundabout
The Treweath Roundabout (commonly known as the Treneere Roundabout) is going to get getting a beautiful wildflower makeover!
Treneere Grows is a local community group of people who live in Treneere or the surrounding area who enjoy growing things in their gardens or caring for the wider green spaces and wild flowers. They have pushed Cornwall Council to include the Treweath Roundabout in its new ‘Making Space for Nature’ programme. The programme aims to create more abundant, productive and healthier habitats, species and natural systems in urban areas in Cornwall.
The Council has now dug circular beds on the roundabout ready for planting.
Treneere Grows will be holding its first planting session on Tuesday 14 September from 10.30am. Please do come if you’d like to help!
WAC will be holding our usual Tuesday Open House that day, so lunch will be available for anyone who would like it.
It’s also one of our One Pot Wonder takeaway days, so if you’d like to pick up a delicious curry to take home, you can pre-order from us now!
Stay tuned for more stories and pictures of the progress on the roundabout. It’s going to be something the whole neighbourhood can be proud of!
