About Us

We are a place-based community organisation working for long-term, systemic change. At the heart of our work is a simple belief: people already have strengths, insight and potential, even when life has dealt them a difficult hand. Our role is to help create the conditions where those qualities can surface and grow.

From our community hub on the Treneere housing estate in Penzance, we bring people together around shared food, a welcoming space, learning and practical support. We work alongside people of all ages facing poverty, insecurity, poor health and isolation, not to tell anyone what to do or how to do it, but to learn and explore together.

By building confidence, connection and everyday skills, we help people feel more able to cope, contribute and support one another. Over time, this creates stronger, more resilient communities that are less reliant on crisis services and better able to step in when statutory support falls short.

Whole Again Communities was established in 2013 by Lizzie Sullivan and is rooted in the principles of the Stone Soup story: when people come together and each bring what they can, something meaningful is created. What began with one woman cycling around Penzance selling flasks of homemade soup has grown into a female-led organisation with seven (part-time) staff and many volunteers, all working to support dignity, confidence and capability in our community.

Today, every penny we receive through grants, donations or food sales is reinvested into the Treneere Community Hub. This allows us to support volunteers to build confidence, learn kitchen and life skills, explore entrepreneurial ideas, and improve wellbeing. It also enables us to offer space for connection and celebration, from everyday gatherings to life’s milestones.
