Current Vacancies:

Job Title: Workshop and Catering Facilitator / Workshop and Catering Support

Salary: £15 / £10 per hour

This post is varied with one day a week of regular work as a lead facilitator.

The post holder will also be required to lead or support on occasional catering events, as well as providing support on an occasional basis on our Superfoods, Socialising and Self Care courses run by Whole Again Communities Director Lizzie Lewis.

We are ideally looking for an experienced support worker, or someone used to working with vulnerable adults. Also, someone with a sound and working knowledge of cookery, nutrition, free-from foods and healthy eating, with flair in the kitchen, who can spin many plates!

We are a social enterprise which encourages and supports people to learn to cook good quality, affordable food from scratch so that they can embrace healthy eating at home.

Whole Again Communities is progressing towards being self-funding through catering events – our catering service is available for meetings, workshops, weddings, parties and many more occasions, all reasonably priced and super healthy!

The role is varied and for the right person, a good opportunity to become part of as growing team.

The role is broken down as follows:

Kitchen Lead Facilitator for our Open House Tuesdays

  • Prepare a delicious lunch for our Open House each Tuesday (for up to 20 people).
  • Facilitate volunteers in the kitchen to help prepare and cook food, being mindful of different skill sets, personalities and mental health issues.
  • Serve and provide lunch for volunteers and guests.
  • Delegate and clear up and do relevant health, safety and hygiene checks.

Support Lead Facilitator

  • Day-to-day support in running of the workshops
  • Bring equipment and resources to training venue
  • Socialise with, encourage and support workshop attendees with food preparation, cooking, gardening and self-care tasks
  • Undertake required training where necessary
  • General washing up and cleaning/clearing

Catering Lead (or support)

  • Prepare and cook for various catering events
  • Bring food and equipment to indoor and outdoor venues
  • Support lead caterer and volunteers in day-to-day running of events
  • Serve customers
  • Handle money
  • General washing up and cleaning/clearing

The post holder will be educated to GCSE level. They will ideally have further qualifications related to support work and catering or be able to demonstrate related experience.

The candidate will also need to have a full, clean driving licence and access to their own vehicle.

Closing date for applications is Friday 1st March 2019 and interviews will take place on Monday 18th March 2019, with a starting date in early April.
